How much does product photography cost in Australia?

The short answer

Published Australian studio prices start at about A$18 to A$40 per image on a plain background, with minimum spends of A$350 to A$500 a shoot, mostly quoted before GST. Styled images cost more, and a 360° spin starts at about A$129 a product. These are the studios’ own published prices, checked in October 2026.

What pushes the price up

  • The minimum. A shoot of three products can cost the same as a shoot of ten, because the minimum spend or project fee covers the studio’s setup.
  • Styling. A product in a scene, with props and a background built for it, costs more than the same product on plain white.
  • Shiny and clear surfaces. Glass, chrome and gloss reflect the studio, so they take more lighting and retouching.
  • Posting the product. Most studios need the product in the room, so add courier time and cost both ways.
  • Video and spins. Usually quoted on top of stills, per product.

Where AI-made images fit

AI-made product images start from photos of your product instead of a studio day. They suit small brands who need a steady supply of images and short videos more than one perfect hero shot.

Our prices, for comparison:

  • Product image: from A$15 an image.
  • Reel or short video: from A$35 a video.
  • 360° spin: from A$99 a product.

There’s no minimum order, so ten images and two Reels come to A$220. Outshot isn’t registered for GST, so those prices are what you pay.

The trade-off is control. A studio photographs the real object under real light. AI rebuilds it, so every image has to be checked against your photos for label text, colour and shape before it’s used. Read how to judge AI product photos before you buy from anyone, us included.

Outshot’s product images start at A$15 each, made with AI from a phone photo, with no minimum order.
